Effective and Simple
One of the most effective training tools we've seen comes from a SkillPath seminar (http://www.skillpathseminars.com/) and provides a simple and effective way to outline clear and concise expectations that a company or organization has from each and every one of its employees.
This employee development plan outlines for each worker:
- Where the company is presently.
- Where it is aspiring to go.
- What is required from this employee and his or her job.
- What attainable goals are expected from this employee.
- What the company adheres to in terms of core values.
Before we begin to define each aspect of this plan, it is important to understand that each of the concepts described below must be shared with your employees, and that they will be expected to sign the completed plan, which will be placed into their personnel file. This will prevent misunderstandings about where you stand with the employee and what he or she thinks his or her purpose is within your organization
A meeting to discuss each of the following ideas should take about an hour and would be ideal for new hire orientation, clarification meetings with a worker if he or she is not performing up to par, and as part of performance reviews.
