Open Your Training Seminar With Innovation

By Corey Nielsen on Wed, 2006-10-25 08:08.

A clever and new way to open any training seminar.

Setup:

  1. After all the participants have arrived but before the seminar has begun, have the facilitator sit down with the audience, either at a table or in a sitting row.
  2. The participants may or may not know who is the facilitator, which can add to the cleverness.
  3. When ready, the facilitator will then ask the entire crowd, "Why am I sitting here?" He or she will then focus the discussion on why people have attended and what they hope to get out of the training.

Purpose:

Start the training with a new and innovative icebreaker and enable creative thinking.
