Close Your Training Seminar With Impact!
Finish any training seminar with serious impact using this technique that is sure to send your participants off with a bang!
Setup:
- With 40 minutes or so remaining in the seminar, split up into teams of 6-8 people with a "scribe" in each group to record questions and answers.
- Have each team write 7-10 questions from the day that will serve to "quiz" people about what was learned.
- Sample questions might be: what three things did you learn today that you didn't know before you walked in the door? What is the important thing we learned about dealing with irate customers? What goals have been established for our team/department for the coming business quarter?
- The questions must be written, one each, on small (2"x3") pieces of paper so they can be folded and placed inside of balloons.
- Have all of the balloons blown up with their "quiz questions" inside.
- Place them all in the middle and on the word, "Go!" have a member of each team go and grab one, bring it back to the table, and pop it!
- Each team must answer the quiz question completely before moving on to the next balloon.
- At the end of a predetermined amount of time (we recommend 10 minutes) have each team leader/scribe read the questions and answers from their teams popped balloons.
- The winner is the team that answered the most questions the most accurately as determined by the facilitator.
Purpose:
This is a great way to end with "impact!" The competition drives people to work hard and fast and this is also a wonderful way to have everyone review what was learned over the course of the training day.
